Ruta B1: the production system behind 1,750 missiles

A prototype makes a promise. Serial production keeps it.

Destinus has completed 1,750 Ruta B1 cruise missiles, with monthly output close to 300. In the accompanying film, Sidney Berndt, Chief Manufacturing and Supply Chain Officer, explains how the company scaled from its first units to serial production.

From prototypes to serial production

“The first few units are tough to make. They’re prototypes, but moving from prototype to scale is a real challenge,” says Berndt, adding the test is building every one to the same standard as output grows.

What we make ourselves

“We build our own engines and develop our own navigation system,” says Berndt.

The T150 turbojet that powers Ruta B1 is developed and manufactured by Destinus. In June 2026, the company announced its 1,000th T150 engine.

Destinus also engineers airframes, guidance and avionics in-house. That is the difference between assembling a missile and producing one.

Why it matters

Armed forces need more than an initial stock. They need to replenish it, to the same standard, at a pace and cost they can sustain.

1,750 is the team’s number. The work behind it is the story.
