From Single Platforms to Connected Formations

Relay. Coordination. In-flight mission updates, including multi-system support. This is what scalable autonomy looks like when communication gets difficult, not when everything is ideal.
In Oklahoma, Shield AI’s V-BAT served as a communications relay between the ground station and multiple Destinus Hornet interceptor systems. Autonomy coordinated the team and managed live mission updates as conditions changed.
This wasn’t “just another test.” It’s a milestone toward a future where different systems operate as one connected formation: distributed, interoperable, and resilient when the network is degraded. Operators set the mission and constraints, and autonomy handled the coordination and in-flight adaptation within the established command frameworks.
This is the first big step in the Shield AI–Destinus campaign, with follow-on validation planned as the integration scales across additional systems.
