DESTINUS participates as an end-user in the WAVETAILOR project.

WAVETAILOR, "Modular laser sources for sustainable production of short personalized production series", aims to improve industrial manufacturing through advanced laser technologies and additive manufacturing, mainly bimetallic 3D printing.

The main objective of the project is to develop the technology for a for using a variety of materials such as titanium, copper and nickel alloys, as well as digital technologies to produce complex parts in a more efficiently, sustainably, and flexibly. This approach enhances precision and small-scale feasibility, contributing to the goal of zero-defect manufacturing.

In WAVETAILOR, DESTINUS acts as an industrial partner in the aeronautical sector. In this role, it is responsible for the design of a prototype leading edge for hypersonic vehicles, which will be manufactured and tested in this project. The manufacturing process developed in WAVETAILOR combines metals with high-temperature resistance or high thermal conductivity to create structures capable of withstanding extreme thermal and mechanical conditions, delaying the need for active cooling while significantly reducing cost and improving the service life of these components when subjected to strong shock waves.

WAVETAILOR Project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon Europe research and innovation programme.
